Due to expansion, Bangor Sure Start requires a;
Child Health Worker
(Ref: F/CHW/D/213)
26 hours per week (20 hours permanent, 6 hours temporary until 31st March 2022)
£9.20 per hour plus mileage
Monday – Saturday
Temporary with possibility of being made permanent

Job Purpose:

The role will be to provide Health and Well-Being services, in a sensitive and nondiscriminatory manner, to parents and families with children 0 – 4 yrs living within the Bangor Sure Start catchment area including the temporary expansion of services into Donaghadee South 1. The post holder will play a key role in supporting parents to make informed decisions about their own and their children’s health and well-being. This will include both antenatal and post-natal home visiting, in addition to the delivery of programmes within the Sure Start area. The postholder will develop strong partnership links with core health visiting and midwifery services. An ability to adapt to change is essential as is the flexibility and a willingness to work across all Bangor Sure Start services, as necessary.

Essential Criteria:

QCF Level 3 in Child Care, Education, Early Years
5 GCSE’s, including English Language and Mathematics at grade C or above
One year’s paid employment / unpaid experience working with children and families
Full and current driving license, valid in the UK, with access to a car
Ability to maintain confidentiality and a sensitive approach to people in need

Desirable Criteria:

Experience of working with families both antenatal and postnatal
