‘Twisel Lodge’ in Holywood Co. Down, is a residential home, registered with RQIA to provide services for 8 adults who have Learning Disabilities and associated complex needs.
 
For most of our residents Twisel Lodge is their home however as part of the eight-person service, we also provide a ‘respite’ facility through which adults with learning disabilities can come and stay with us for a break. This service provides an opportunity for the main carers to get a break from caring duties and enables them to refresh and to be able to continue their caring role.
As part of the caring team, you will help create and maintain a caring and safe environment where the personal care and social needs of the residents are fulfilled."

The Deputy Manager will support the Registered Manager to meet the Domiciliary Care Agencies Regulations (Northern Ireland) 2007 and the DHSS&PS Domiciliary Care Agency Minimum Standards.

The Deputy Manager will work on a rotational basis Including sleep ins’ and will support the Registered Manager to develop and implement personalised care plans and individual risk assessments to meet individual needs. 

They will ensure the delivery of quality care and Manage budgets and resources effectively.

Hours:                                  35-37 hours per week + sleep – in’s
Contract:                             Permanent
Location:                             Twisel Lodge, Holywood
Salary:                                 Commencing on £25,991 per annum pro rata

Essential:
A professional social work qualification and registered on the appropriate part of the Northern Ireland Social Care Council (NISCC) register, without condition;
OR
A first level registered nurse on the appropriate part of the Nursing and Midwifery Council register;
OR
An allied health professional registered with the Health Professions Council, RQF 5 or working towards.
Combined with
A minimum of three years’ work experience in any health or social care setting with people who have significant needs. At least one years of this experience must be in a relevant management capacity in a health and social care setting.
OR
Level 5 Diploma in Leadership for Health and Social Care Services (Adults’ Management) Wales and Northern Ireland and be eligible for registration on appointment,
Combined with

A minimum of four years’ practice experience in any health and social care setting as above
Experience of managing in a group living facility for people who have learning disabilities and significant associated needs.
Working knowledge of the service user group as specified under the Service Registration category (Learning Disability).    
Effective communication and use of IT skills                                                     
Hold a full current driving licence valid for use in UK and Ireland and have access to a car on appointment*

*This criterion will be waived in the case of a suitable application who has a disability which prohibits them from driving but who is able to organise suitable alternative arrangements in order to meet the requirements of the post
