Heritage 2022 Cataloguer
Heritage 2022 (H22) is a preservation-led programme to safeguard high risk significant collections held by the BFI National Archive and Regional and National Film Archives (RNAs) across the UK. Under this scheme, Northern Ireland Screen – in partnership with the Public Record Office of Northern Ireland and supported by the Department for Communities (DfC) – is working with the BFI on the digitisation of more than 6,500 Northern Ireland-related videotapes.
In the main, the selection comprises Ulster Television broadcast materials from the 1980s, 1990s and 2000s, with smaller collections including NI Party Political Broadcasts, the work of the Belfast Film Workshop, NI adverts, and Northern Ireland Screen funded productions of the late 1990s and early 2000s.
Through this project, we will seek to make a selection of works, digitised from the above-named videotape collections, available to the public through a new digital service for UK public libraries.
The H22 Cataloguer will undertake relevant aspects of work including research, selection, rights clearance, metadata and any other requirements to supply videotape material for the new library service.
