The Role

Working as part of the Data Sciences Department within the Biomarker Software Development Team team based in our global headquarters in Craigavon, you will be responsible for providing support to Almac Diagnostics software development activities.  You will maintain and expand bioinformatics programs/pipelines and design, development, release and maintenance of clinical assay reporting and delivery tools.

Essential Criteria

  • Bachelor’s degree (or equivalent level qualification) in bioinformatics, computational biology, computer science, or a related discipline OR extensive relevant experience working in a software development role
  • Demonstrable computation and software development skills
  • Competent in 2 or more of the following development languages:  R, Python, Perl, C++
  • Working knowledge of Server Operating Systems (Windows/Linux/Unix)

Desirable Criteria
(The following criteria may be applied if a large pool of applicants exist)

  • Msc in Bioinformatics or a computing discipline
  • Experience in shell scripting (bash/csh/ksh/powershell)
  • Previous experience working within a quality system and/or software regulatory experience/knowledge
  • Experience working with cloud environments
