To support the leadership, co-ordination, management and development of the Council’s response to the challenges of climate change mitigation and adaptation to achieve net zero targets, including research, development, and performance management.
Key Purpose of the Post:
To support the Senior Management Team in ensuring the delivery of the Council’s vision and strategic objectives with focus on matters relating to climate change.
To lead the Council’s progress to transition to net-zero emissions; champion sustainability initiatives and innovative development in the Council; driving awareness within the Council and the District; providing oversight and challenge where necessary and supporting the delivery of underpinning change programmes.
To monitor the implementation of the Climate Change and Sustainability Strategy and Action Plan, and to ensure appropriate measures are implemented to ensure efficient and effective performance management.
To support the Senior Management Team by influencing service delivery improvement activities and the management and delivery of transformational change and integrated working across the organisation.
