The Company
Almac Sciences (Scotland) focuses on manufacturing high quality peptides for the pharmaceutical research industry. Almac is an exceptional, award winning, drug development solutions provider at the forefront of the pharmaceutical industry.  We are a privately owned organisation that has organically grown over 50 years and now employs in excess of 5,600 highly skilled personnel worldwide.  Our Global headquarters is located in Craigavon, Northern Ireland with additional operations throughout Europe (UK, Ireland), across the US (Pennsylvania, North Carolina and California) and in Asia (Singapore and Japan).

The Role
The field of personalised cancer vaccines is rapidly growing and incredibly exciting. The treatment strategy harnesses a patient’s immune system to fight their cancer. The patient’s immune system is stimulated by the administration of an antigenic peptide-based vaccine, the peptide drugs produced are completely personalised – ie they are each manufactured on a one-off basis and only used to treat an individual patient.

This is an exciting new field and a new venture for Almac. We are aiming to build a team of high calibre manufacturing staff to produce, test and release these personalised drugs.  Working as part of the High Throughput GMP Manufacturing team based in our Edinburgh Technopole facility, you will be responsible for

  • Lab-scale production of peptides by solid phase chemical synthesis
  • Purification and analysis of peptides for despatch to customers

As part of a busy team within a rapidly growing organisation, operating within a challenging industry, you will benefit from the numerous personal and professional developmental opportunities available throughout the Almac group.
