Reporting to the Engineering Team Leader at our state-of-the-art site Global Point, in Newtownabbey, the core purpose of the Manufacturing Engineer will be to support production on a departmental and company wide basis.

Other primary responsibilities include:

Use engineering experience to develop methods of manufacture and provide high quality manufacturing cell support
Design and specify new or modified tooling, fixtures and methods
Engineering process improvement; identify, implement and support continuous improvement activities
Define and maintain the process flow for new and existing products and assist in definition of cell layout
Manage the change control process and create/maintain BOMs, technical instructions and procedures
Identify, promote and introduce technical innovation and improvements
Provide technical support to other departments and functions, e.g. Production, Supply Chain, and Quality
Provide input to customer component designs and technical reviews
Assist with operator training in new processes or changes in process
Respond to customer concerns in a professional and timely manner
Develop suitable measures for projects and share successes within Engineering Department
Participate in cross functional activity and assist in the smooth running of the Engineering department
Support Company and Department objectives
Any additional tasks or duties deemed necessary to meet the responsibilities of the role.
The successful candidate should have –
Essential Qualifications
Hold an HNC/D Level 3 or above in Mechanical Engineering or Chemistry related qualification.
Essential Experience
At least 4 years’ experience as a Manufacturing Engineer in an Engineering / Manufacturing environment with a minimum of 2 years’ experience in chemical treatments within the last 5 years.
Competent in creating and updating standard work instructions, reviewing customer specifications and engineering drawings.
Experience within the Aerospace Industry or a similarly regulated industry within the last 5 years.
