​​​​​​​The Role:  
PRINCIPAL DUTIES:

Responsible for training and supervision of all team members
Ensure adherence to the 4-week production schedule
Ensure all team members adhere to all processes and procedures at all times, without deviation
Take the lead role in helping production operators with set-up, adjustment, trouble shooting and minor repair of equipment
Fully understand cell automation and robot recovery
Carry out minor fixture repairs, seal changes, tool changing and CNC program dimensional edits
Lead hex-board and morning meetings, and also lead the weekly department scorecard meetings as required
Review all daily production reports, daily and weekly check sheets to identify problem areas and initiate corrective actions as necessary
Participate and lead information sharing, team working, 5S and continuous improvement programmes; this includes responsibility for sharing all information at shift changeover and taking the lead in TPM, 5S activities, 6-sigma and continuous improvement meetings
Deputise and take responsibility for work throughout the department, in the absence of the departmental manager
Comply with the Company Environmental Policy and the Environmental Management System both in normal and emergency situations
Other duties as required

Essential Criteria:
Third level qualification (degree, HND, HNC or equivalent)
Candidates with a lesser qualification, plus significant relevant experience will also be considered
Product, process and quality knowledge in a die casting/ manufacturing environment
Highly competent in training others to meet operation standards
Demonstrated commitment to HSE, housekeeping and 5S principles
Excellent communication, presentation, and negotiation skills
Strong customer focus and interpersonal skills
Adaptable and flexible
Excellent teamwork skills with the ability to motivate and encourage others
Good analytical, problem solving, planning and organizing skills
Results focused, with ability to work on own initiative
IT skills, including Microsoft office

Desirable Criteria:
Experience of working within an ISO/ TS16949 environment
Experience in identifying training needs
Coaching and employee development skills
Experience in the use of process improvement tools/ techniques
