Quality Inspector
Job Overview:
The Quality Inspector will be responsible for ensuring that all product has been manufactured, processed, inspected, packaged and released in accordance with all internal, customer and AS9100 requirements.
Responsibilities & Duties:
- Interpretation of engineering drawings and inspection of complex aerospace components using 1st Principles, handheld Inspection Equipment and CMMs.
- Visual Inspection of Product to Customer Drawings and Standard Work Instruction including setting of visual standards.
- Complete inspection logs and reports whilst maintaining traceability at all times.
- Must be familiar with digital and analogue calipers and micrometers, height gauge and surface roughness tester.
- Running of CMMs and interpretation of results.
- Perform First Article Inspections in accordance with AS9102 using Visual FAI software.
- Participate in Material Review Board (MRB) activities including disposition of product.
- Calibration of metrology equipment such as vernier, micrometer, plug gauges, setting rings etc.
- Work in conjunction with the engineering and production teams to solve any product related quality issues.
- Attend daily team meeting
- Update SQDP team board
- Use ERP system to log time assigned to work tasks
- Liaise with primary suppliers to resolve admin issues and raise quality concerns
- Essential:
- Ability to read and interpret engineering technical drawings
- Ability to utilise metrology gauges such as caliper, micrometer etc.
- Excellent interpersonal, communication, analytical and problem solving skills
- Strong team player with a customer focus
Desirable:
- Previous machining, CNC and/or CMM experience
- Previous audit experience and knowledge of AS9100
- AS9102 First Article Inspection experience
- Calibration experience
- Six Sigma green belt
Hours of work:
Monday – Thursday 08:00-17:15, Friday 08:00-12:00
