GRADE:   6

JOB PURPOSE:
The Senior Technical Officer plays an integral role in the management of the Grants Office, working as part of the Management Team to ensure delivery of all office KPI and budget targets.  The post will have particular responsibility for managing grant technical staff, and will be responsible for reviewing technical information for both grants and energy efficiency schemes to ensure compliance with technical policies and procedures.

The Senior Technical Officer will carry out monitoring visits, and on occasions may be required to carry out building surveys and inspection of works for domestic properties providing recommendations based on findings.

REQUIREMENTS:             
Candidates must have:
Possess a degree level qualification in Building Studies or equivalent professional/technical qualification, and have at least 3 years’ relevant experience in Building Construction /Surveying.
OR
Possess a relevant BTEC Higher Certificate/Diploma or equivalent qualification in Building Studies, plus 4 years’ relevant experience in Building Construction/ Surveying.
OR
Can demonstrate equivalent continuing professional development/experiential learning and at least 5 years working within Building Construction/ Surveying.
